My name is Deirdre Patton and I am an artist living in Creevy, Ballyshannon.
I handmake all of my art work and prints from scratch, using paint, inks and mixed media before turning them into cards, postcards & prints for you to enjoy.
The name The Préachán Bowl comes from the fact that every evening at dusk I feed the local crows with our leftover food, which goes into a bowl specially reserved just for them. They know exactly when supper time is and they come along every evening for their lovely little feast!
I hope you love my artwork as much as I love creating it for you.

The Art Room
Made at home – found locally.
I am lucky enough to have created my own little art room at home – a room where paint, paper, inks, lino and all sorts of bits and pieces are used to create my art work.
I spend my days drawing, painting and lino printing – always with a cup of coffee close by – and probably a crow or two waiting outside for supper!
You won’t find me on social media – I am a bit old-fashioned that way!
Instead, you’ll find my cards, prints and postcards in lovely local shops around Ballyshannon and the surrounding area.
I like the idea of my work being discovered while you’re out and about – popping into a local shop, having a browse, finding something that makes you smile and perhaps taking home a little piece of local art.

The Irish Words Collection
I love adding little Irish words and phrases to my cards and prints.
They’re a natural part of the language and culture around me and I enjoy the warmth, humour and character they bring to my illustrations.
Some may be familiar, while others might be new to you – but all are included simply because I feel they are right at home on my art. Here you can see just a small selection of my handmade designs. Click below to see lots more.
A Little Bit Extra…
All of my art creations begin life as an A4 painting or lino print, lovingly made by hand in my little art room.
I then turn them into cards and postcards for you to enjoy – or to send to someone special.
If you’d like something a little more personal, just get in touch.
Quite a few of my Border Collie-loving customers, for example, have asked me to add their own dog’s name to the Border Collie cards.
I’m always happy to create something that feels a little bit yours.
